The Lions Club of Diyawannawa with the intention of harnessing the talent of the youth,formed the Leo Club of Diyawannawa with a group of young boys and girls mostly comprisingof their children.

On the 19th day in the month of December 2006, the Leo Club of Diyawannawa was started with twenty three Leos been inducted as charter members.
